Texture and material construction: The Starter, like all of Tantus' dildos, is made of 100% platinum-cured silicone, which is body-safe and can be sterilized in multiple ways. It has no scent of its own, though it will hold onto scents for a short period of time - for example, if washed with a scented soap. This dildo is very smooth-textured, and glides easily with a water-based lube like Sliquid Satin.

Review Details: The Starter is somewhat similar to Tantus' Warm-Up or Silk Small. This one has a straight shaft, though, unlike the other two. Because of that shaft, it doesn't provide much g-spot stimulation for me. The gently rounded "head" saves it from being too boring, though, by adding some of that "popping" sensation as it goes into and out of my vaginal opening.

The simple, smooth, small shape do make this an excellent starter dildo for trying out vaginal or anal penetration, or a warm-up in preparation for larger toys. The sturdy base serves three purposes: a handhold for using it alone, a safety stopper for anal use, and a point of leverage and stability for harness use.

Due to the shorter length, slim girth, straight shaft, and complete lack of any scent or flavor, this would also be a great practice dildo for oral sex for someone who is learning technique or working on overcoming a sensitive gag reflex.
