The Vamp has had some design updates since some of the product photos were taken, because Tantus updates their products to better meet customer preferences. The silicone has a matte finish instead of a glossy one, and it has a softer density than the old version, though not as squishy as the super soft variety.

The head still has a ridge underneath it but there is much less of a gap between the head and the shaft.

The base makes it stable when standing up, but isn't as chunky as it used to be. Overall, the design makes it easier to use, and a nice dildo for when you want to move up in size but don't want anything too extreme.

Mine measures 1.8" width at the widest point of the head, 1.75" on the shaft right below the head, and narrowing to 1.5" at the very bottom of the shaft above the base.

Texture and material construction: The Tantus Vamp is a dildo that's fairly simplistic in design, yet very effective in functionality. It comes in two finishes: cream and purple haze. It is 7" in total and 6.5” insertable length. It has a shaft diameter of 1.7" and a max diameter of 1.75".

It is made out of Tantus' signature 100% Ultra-Premium Silicone.

It is harness compatible and has a little sparkle to the finish. The wide base makes it safe to use anally.

Review Details: I really like how firm the toy is. At first it felt uncomfortable, but after a while I love how it just applied a firm amount of pressure to my sweet spots. I also found this toy to be very filling, but not overwhelmingly. The cream finish is also very pretty to look at. The extreme coronal ridge is great for g-spot stimulation.

I noticed that it was fairly easy for the head to get caught on my pubic bone, which felt uncomfortable at times. However, I was able to maneuver around this, at the cost of decreasing the amount of g-spot stimulation I was getting. I think it's because the silicone material is so firm and the coronal ridge is so extreme that the toy kept getting caught on my pubic bone. Overall, I really like this product.

Review Details: I’d been anticipating this one for some time. Learning (fortunately after only a few uses) of the potential problems with other materials (some of which I experienced myself), I was looking to replace my only toy with pure silicone. My initial replacement item was very firm, satin finish, heavily textured, and much smaller than my husband, and despite possessing two of my preferences (plenty of texture in the form of wrinkles and veins, and a smooth finish), it still seems to cause me some discomfort at times… even pain.

Then, at long last, I was able to afford this one. The first thing I want to say is, when I removed it from the box, just as expected, its very appearance (the shimmery finish, glossy sheen and gorgeous, pale pinkish white color) was extremely sexy to me. It is a size I’m far more accustomed to (above average, but I wouldn’t call it huge… However, for those with a smaller preference, it may be a bit much), and despite feeling less than up to the task, I was determined to try it that day.

I was hesitant about this toy at first; I have a preference to something with a bit more squish and far more bend to its material, and was concerned I would be unable to try many angles without creating unpleasant sensations. This one bends, but not enough to conform to every position. However, if you prefer pressure, this is good for being able to maneuver to the right spot without it bending too much with you to apply pressure. That said, my initial experience left me very pleasantly surprised, though I used other means of stimulating my clitoris, as this is very lacking in vein–like texture, and has no support for a bullet vibe.

My second experience was with my husband as a warm up toy, and due to its smooth, glossy finish, it did the job well. One thing I noticed (and this surprised me) is that the head CAN catch on my pubic bone, but that’s not entirely a bad thing. With plenty of lube, it is actually mild, and a nice sensation, and with a smaller amount of lube, it’s distracting at worst. Compared to my other, smaller toy, however, this one caused no pain, I believe because the head is more rounded and thus does not create the “poking sensation” that my smaller one can if lubrication is less abundant.

Later came my third experience. Again, I was alone, and this time, I was determined to get there with this toy by itself. I let it soak in a cup of hot water until I was good and ready, and found that, even despite the lack of “hills and valleys” in its shape, I was still able to achieve enough clitoral stimulation in the right position to reach an orgasm that –despite being smaller– was actually MORE satisfying than the first time I used it.

My conclusion? Although I do still wish the silicone was a bit more elastic and the shape had just a few more noticeable ridges for stimulation (my only reason for 4 stars instead of 5), this one actually manages to compare to my old toy, which, until now, I couldn’t bring myself to toss despite not using it. The look of this toy is a turn on by itself, the smooth finish is very nice for those who prefer less drag or friction, as I do, and in the right position, the bulbous and VERY firm head can create interesting sensations, whether it hits the g spot or not. However, for those who do not enjoy the thumping or popping sensation of something large and firm grinding their pelvic bone, this is something to keep in mind; it may not be for you. As for me, I’m almost tempted to buy the vibrating grab bag version too!

Also, due to the flared (and very firm and sturdy) base, this toy is both harness friendly and anal safe… Not to mention the hygienic, non–toxic material, which is non porous, meaning it can be disinfected by boiling for 3 minutes, wiping down with rubbing alcohol or a mild bleach solution, or even washed in the top rack of a dishwasher (by itself and without detergent, of course). I highly recommend this one!

Starry Night

Texture and material construction: I got this toy via Tantus' Grab Bag page so mine is an all-black version. The shaft is a matte silicone and the head is glossy and in certain lighting you can see hints of shimmery purple in it as well. Kind of like the night sky.

Review Details: I should start out my saying that this was my first ever Dildo. Needless to say I had a serious case of my eyes being bigger than my vagina. The first time I ever tried to insert this toy I gave up because I was, quite honestly, not ready for it. Naturally though, I refused to let a lump of penis shaped silicone conquer my vagina so I never gave up on getting this toy to work for me.

Eventually with plenty of warm-up and lube I was able use this toy as Tantus intended, and in doing so I learned a very important fact about myself: I am not a fan of major shifts in texture. This toy has some really subtle veins and whatnot in the shaft which are fine for me but the problem comes in when I reach the coronal ridge of this toy. When it's moving inside of me it is bearable at best and upon removal I experience the sensation that only such a ridge can provide. Some people are really into that sensation, but I am not one of them. With plenty of lube I don't feel that ridge as much when it is moving inside of me, but just knowing I have to eventually take it out makes me not want to use it as often as other, smoother, dildos.

All of that being said, I find that the head of this toy is really great for G-spot stimulation and if I insert it and pair it with a clitoral vibe the orgasms are A+ quality. I should also mention that you can really feel the drag of the matte shaft and it's a very nice sensation although you're gonna’ need more lube than you would if the entire toy had the same glossy finish as the head.

Overall this is a solid toy, but it may not be the best choice if you're not into deep coronal ridges or if you're new to penetration altogether.
