Lovehoney Plus Size Beau Red Lace Basque Set

I'm not gonna lie, when Lovehoney started discontinuing several white items, I cried a lot on the inside. White is my secret fav, so when this arrived, 'Oh hellloooo' immediately crossed my mind. I'm 5'11, size 16 top, 18/20 bottom with 38Es. On first impressions, it's stunning. It has a lace and fishnet combination with almost a flower/leaf pattern through it. I did, however, think it looked a bit short in the body (this is the major flaw for basques for us tall ones). I combined this with some white fishnet holdups, just so it all kinda went together. Luckily, this did actually sit rather well. Although slightly high on the hips, it still worked. I like it. So, some other positives... Boob coverage: hurrah - there's so much! Due to the design, I really don't think there's much chance of your boobs escaping in this. I did my usual star jump test and I'm still sitting in nicely. Chunky straps! Thank god for these. Although I can work with thin or thick straps, I think many more individuals will be happier with these. Same for the panties. So glad they're thick compared to the thinner ones. They work well with this piece. I should note that the top straps, suspenders and pants are fully adjustable. Keep in mind, the middle waist band is not. The material is soft, not itchy, pretty stretchy and comfortable, which is totally the main thing. I sat around in this for a while and it didn't annoy me. Apart from this could be with being a little longer in the body, I can't really say any other flaws about it. I'll go back to strutting about in the house in this. For anyone looking for a simple piece or even something for a wedding night, you can't go wrong with this!

Romantic Rouge Basque

I was grateful to receive an offer from Lovehoney to review something from a new range of underwear. The package arrived just before Christmas and since they are red it felt very appropriate to get into the spirit and slip this set on under a dress while preparing the turkey and the mulled cider! The elements I really liked were the band around the waist which draws attention to this area and away from ones hips, accentuating my curves. The pattern of the garment is attractive, similar to a butterfly shape, drawing in at the waist. The pattern didn't quite sit where I expected and revealed a little too much of my little chest raisins that I expected but I think my husband was happy enough with that result! I prefer my knickers big at the front to cover my mummy tummy and these are not quite big enough. I'm happy with a comfy thong or something that covers by bum as long as they are comfortable and these were! The adjustable straps on the side of the knickers feels a little like an attempt to them one size fits all and maybe results in a slightly less sexy and luxurious feeling garment. Having said that they did fit well enough as a result. The basque did ride up a little when I was wearing it but have to say that I didn't wear it with stocking which would have helped I'm sure. Although for me the suspender straps are a little long so wouldn't really have worked. I have short legs being only 5'4" so if you're a little taller it might well work for you. Overall, a lovely basque with a very attractive pattern, not so keen on the knickers due to the lack of front coverage. The set was very comfortable to wear. I love sexy lingerie that's comfortable, otherwise, it's a real mood killer for me! If I was to comment on the feel of the lingerie I would have to say it's doesn't feel quite as luxurious as some of the Lovehoney lingerie I have.

Beautiful red, pretty and comfortable

We were very pleased to be asked to test the Plus size Beau Red Lace Basque.Arriving in the usual discreet cardboard box we opened this to reveal the cellophane bag containing the Basque and matching thong which were plastic tagged together, a small bug bear of ours but fortunately no damage done.My wife’s initial impression was ‘I love the Christmas red colour and the lace material feels really soft’. My wife is 5’ 6”, a pear shaped size 18, 38C with a long torso and sometimes struggles with clothing of this nature but the easily adjustable shoulder straps pulled the Basque into place. The Basque itself is more of a body stocking in its feel, very pleasing to the eye, suited us perfectly but ultimately there is no breast support so larger ladies may struggle.The comfortable and pretty red flowery lace design works well with a visual band around the midriff leading to an open naval with a well-executed criss-cross pattern (repeated on the back), which distracted from any mummy tummy/body issues and led the eyes down to the fixed suspender straps (two to the front two to the rear). The eye-catching thong sat wonderfully beneath the Basque and was also very comfortable due to the adjustable waistband. We really liked the fact you could easily alter each side of the thong to ensure comfort to fit a variety of shapes and sizes.Beautifully made the lacey triangle at the front and rear draws your attention and compliments the whole thong design admirably – I particularly enjoyed the view from behind as the design wonderfully frames the bottom.We teamed the Basque with sheer black stockings with red lace tops and patent high heels which really finished the whole outfit.My wife felt confident, pretty, sexy and most importantly comfortable. Despite offering no support the set fitted perfectly which also meant no bunching or squeezing, riding up or digging which can happen with boned Basques so another huge positive whatever position we tried.Well made, nicely finished and as per all Lovehoney products this is also easy to handwash with little colour loss.In our mind this will fit a variety of body shapes, is a nice addition to any collection and would work well in other colours too. Gorgeous Basque set

I simply adore red lingerie, there’s something about it that’s totally sexy and this Lovehoney Beau Red Lace Basque Set is both gorgeous and so dammed sexy.It’s beautifully elegant, and I love the way it skims over my breasts and hips, enhancing every curve with the satin waistband accentuating my waist to perfection, and completed with beautiful red satin suspender straps.This fabulous basque is made entirely from fishnet and lace, giving a sexy glimpse of skin through the fabric.The lace itself, a gorgeous flower pattern, has a delicious hint of silver woven into it, it’s simply gorgeous and I adore this pretty detailing.I love the deep plunging v neck, made from lace and revealing just the perfect amount of cleavage and held in place by little cross crossed straps.The shoulder straps are adjustable via sliders at the back and very pretty, rising from the plunging v front and then crossing over quite sexily at the back, I particularly love the way that the lace is shaped so beautifully across the back of this basque, it’s elegantly curved to sit slightly lower in the middle.The lace trim is so beautifully done, every piece of it matched up to perfection, I love how there’s even panels of lace at the sides of the basque, this has the effect of enhancing my waist with the way it’s been shaped.At the bottom of the basque, front and back, are little criss crossed straps, I always think that this is a very sexy little thing which draws my other half’s eyes downward.The complimenting thong is beautifully made, not just an afterthought, made with a lovely soft red satin waistband, it’s fully adjustable via a slider on each side at the front of the band.The front triangle of the thong is trimmed with the same beautiful red lace as the basque and the gusset is full lined. I’ve worn this gorgeous set all day and evening and believe me it’s very comfortable and oh so sexy.My height is 5’3” and I’m a size 10-12 with 32F boobs, and ladies if you think there wouldn’t be much support in this gorgeous basque then please believe me, the support in this is simply amazing, I found the fishnet to be very strong and it really does hold my girls up, I’m so impressed.I would never have thought that I could look so good in a lace basque but this one is simply stunning on, it holds my girls up and I swear they even look bigger in this, it accentuates my waist and skims my hips, I love it. I’ve combined it with black stockings and they look great but I’m sure red stockings would look fabulous with it.

Seductively curve-hugging

I was very kindly sent this item to test and review - thank you, Lovehoney! In usual Lovehoney style, it arrived quickly, packaged discreetly, and via a tracked delivery method so I knew when to expect my parcel. I love basques but usually they don't love me - I'm 5'8", pear-shaped and am often overcome with bouts of bad posture that most basques just won't stand for. Fortunately this one is the perfect lingerie basque because it doesn't have the 'bones' running down the panels like most do, and gosh I was just so relieved because it means it clings to my form just fine and creates a beautiful figure-hugging shape all while remaining comfortable with purely soft materials. I was thrilled to be able to have all the visual appeal of a sexy basque with none of the draw-backs - it has no hard bits so it's comfortable, the shape doesn't get warped by posture or how it's stored, and I just genuinely want to wear it because it feels so hassle-free. I'm a UK size 12 and was sent this in the One Size option. It's a pretty good fit on me but I would say that it lacks the adjustability of other styles and I'm not sure how good it would be for larger sizes because the waistband has some stretch to it but it's at its limit when I pull it on either over my chest or hips (the garment is solid with nothing to open or close it, which makes it easy to put on but not that forgiving for one-size sizing.) As I mentioned I'm a little tall and a lot of that height is long torso, so this set looks a little fragmented on me as the basque criss-cross bit at the bottom is high enough to reveal my bellybutton in the middle of it, meaning there's quite a gap between where the basque ends and the panties start. I don't mind it, especially because the suspender straps are shaped to hide this pretty well, but my partner commented that the style wasn't all that suited to someone as tall as me. The panties are much nicer than you'd expect for a pair that comes with a set - usually panties feel like an afterthought and are just there because they have to be. Not so with these! They're really well-made, comfortable, and match the basque beautifully. It's the same lace and mesh material, they're lined for comfort, and they have stretchy elastic as the waistband and thong string. The waistband also has sliders to adjust them which is great design for a one-size item. I would wear them separately from the basque because they're so pretty and comfortable - I think anyone who has bought sets including a thong will know how high that praise is. Although it's not a perfect fit on me, I still think this is really pretty lingerie that makes me look and feel good and it's a fantastic choice for anyone like me who loves basque-style fashion but has been longing for one without panelling. After attempting to buy my first lingerie set from Amazon and enduring with huge disappointment, I took a gamble on this. I’ve never purchased from those site before and I couldn’t be any more happier. It fit so well and I have not felt any more confident in so long! It doesn’t feel cheap either which is great. I was mostly worried as a bigger woman that it would fit oddly but it is very firm fitting. Will be buying from here again!

I brought this for valentines day to surprise the boyfriend. I've ordered stuff before but being a petite women and having a big bust it's difficult to get things that fit sometimes. I normally tend to go for items that are one size fits 8/16. This item is absolute amazing. The straps are thick and comfortable it matches the red stockings perfectly which I was a little worried about. It fits like a glove it doesn't push my bust down or have them kind of over flowing out. It holds them in nicely but then fixes on to you with the red strap across it flows with my curves and hips nicely it's absolutely amazing I would buy this item again but it another colour.

I recently ordered the basque and stockings together. I was sceptical as I’ve been on and off with lovehoneys underwear BUT this was too nice to resist. I was SUPER happy that I didn’t resist as it it really nice quality.

The lace is super stretchy and there are wonderfully useful sliders on the thong and straps so there is plenty of room for adjustment. I had no problems with the fit. For reference, I am an hourglass shaped UK size 10/12, 5’6’’ tall with a 32D bust.
